Prum36Like HarryI like Harry but hearing from the other hosts that Bernie is terrible for the Democratic Party seemed more the hosts personal feelings on the outcomes than any analysis. And then there was a Bloomberg ad. Why can’t we get some Harry’s Razors ads? I’ll check back in 2022
-
SuperJacquieBetter with just HarryI followed Harry over here from FiveThirtyEight and enjoyed his solo shows. Adding the other two hosts wasn’t a good move. Hearing the Bloomberg ad in the last episode was the final straw for me. Nothing against Bloomberg; there should be no political ads on this kind of show. Sorry Harry!
-
Real-PersonDisappointing - Bloomberg paid adI love Harry and miss him on the FiveThirtyEight Politics Podcast. But this "analysis" discussion is sadly laughable. There's *literally* a paid Bloomberg campaign ad in the middle of the episode!!! And the other two hosts are so servile and in the tank for Bloomberg!! Slavishly heaping undue praise on him and waving off all his many faults and electoral vulnerabilities. They were making fun of Bernie and Warren the whole time for having principles. "Well you didn't mind when he was donating billions to causes you believed in, but now you don't like it that he's using his billions of dollars to try to buy an election and move the country far to the right of the progressive Democratic ideals that your whole candidacy is based on? Now you don't like him, but you'd still like him to donate his vast billions to worthy causes?" YES!!! Being obscenely rich does not make you virtuous -- he SHOULD donate to worthy causes, and one can still reject his attempt to turn American democracy into a contest of two billionaires. It's repugnant. Two things can be true at once! He doesn't deserve slavish fealty because he has unlimited money! He literally represent exactly what Bernie and Warren stand against, and the hosts act like their supporters are morons for not worshipping Bloomberg's pockets. They're principled, that's a good thing.
-
Deep_Fried_BaconDisappointed with Bloomberg commercialsI’m so disappointed, I’ve been enjoying your daily updates for almost a year now. But the fact that before your segment on Bloomberg you have a paid advertisement by the candidate, truly shows this is not a neutral space to find the facts about this election. I’m just so disappointed.

Andyroo184$,!2WHY IS KATE SO OBNOXIOUSLY MEAN TO HARRY!?It’s extremely annoying. Her interrupting and insulting him CONSTANTLY messes with the flow of the podcast. It’s not fun to listen to someone make “jokes” about someone else that are actually just insults incessantly. Especially when Harry is the most knowledgeable person in the room and she serves no purpose. Can the podcast just be Harry??

Memphis JayEnten works w/ Cillizza so the content is suspectI give Chris Cillizza two out of ten pork pie hats for lazy journalism. (Just look for what Adam Jentleson has said about Cillizza never reaching out to Senator Harry Reid’s offices for comment before publishing many pieces on Reid as then-Senate Majority Leader.) POW! P-P-POWER RANKINGS! Harry Enten is certainly good at crunching numbers and considering data, hence why he joined CNN after spending last cycle with 538. His cohosts are even better on the pod than he is. But I have to dock two stars, only one because Enten seems on a slippery slope toward hackery with his current pairing. (Anyone else remember how much better “hotline” Chuck Todd was?) Aside from *the podcast frequently being released just in time for new polls to make it irrelevant* (as I write this, “And Then There Were Five” came out simultaneously with Tom Steyer qualifying for the January Democratic debate), I have to dock a second star because Cillizza is one of the worst hacks on any mainstream platform. I get that you don’t always reflect on your colleagues, but it’s pretty bad for anyone who regularly collaborates with him to offer neutral analysis. FWIW, I don’t even think Cillizza is particularly slanted in any given ideological direction. He’s just a shoddy conventional wisdom spigot whose best career move was filling Halperin’s vacuum. If this show were produced in a silo from him, the mud on CNN’s cheek wouldn’t be so glaring, but Harry even cites the work he does with Cillizza assigning ordinal probability rankings via gut feeling and studying entrails on the pod. The mud is only getting smeared around as a result. CNN, you have a good analyst in Enten - I hope he’s used better in the future.

PlayedforeverToo SillyHarry was a brilliant counterpoint to Nate Silver at Five Thirty Eight but here he does too much silly stuff. His incredible knowledge and analyses are immediately lost in the goofy intros. Trying too hard to entertain. He still provides unique insights, but it can be too painful to listen through the junk to get there.
-
sanfrannanaThree on averageHarry gets 5 stars from me despite the fast food, but Kate is one of the most annoying voices ever
-
mainemikeyNeeds to be just HarryI would happily change my 3 ⭐️ rating to 5 ⭐️ if this podcast was just Harry alone. I'm sure the other two hosts are very nice people, but the inane banter really brings the show to a cringe worthy halt. It's like they're trying too hard.
-
leonormelaraWaste of the talented Harry EntenI LOVE Harry Enten, but the other hosts don’t aren’t especially insightful and come off as trying too hard to be funny. I will continue to listen because of Enten, but wish he was with the 538 team. With them he was able to have much better conversations. This pod is a waste of talent. *sad face, shrug*

JlcodThanksgivingI love The Forecast Fest and look forward to it every week. Have a wonderful holiday season and thanks for the enjoyable, informative news each week.

Sam, longtime fanSolid political analysis, mostly from EntenThis podcast was at its best when it was Harry Enten alone (“The Forecast with Harry Enten”) offering his thoughtful analysis on politics through the lens of publicly available polling. The addition of two other hosts has only diluted the quality of the podcast, rather than added anything substantive to it. There is now too much goofy banter and seat-of-the-pants analysis that isn’t informed by more than the hosts’ gut intuitions. We can get that cheap form of punditry anywhere. CNN, please restore the podcast to its original format. It was much better as “The Forecast with Harry Enten.”
-
CASocWorkerTerrific show, BUT...The content is great but please, please slow down the audio. You sound like chipmunks. It's difficult to listen to.
-
steve bullock (haha)Harry is great, the other two need to go awayMore nerd stuff, Harry, less centrist punditry from cable news stooge 1 and 2
-
MrsVK GiftedLove Harry...and all the valuable info! Keep writing those reality checks so folks will know that we need more than tweets to make the world the way we want it!!
-
Playa hata five twoBernie and Warren BiasThis is what your pod should be called. Every episode is just a circle jerk between two no names about how Bernie and Warren are terrible candidates. First of all, we come for Harry. Who the heck are these other two goobers. 538 isnt biased they just call the horse race. These nimrods expose their corporatist bias and it’s wrenching. I want to vom.
-
StraightironAvlon Analysis is great!!!Among the best podcasts of all!!!
-
chanohackFive Stars for Harry, Three OverallHarry was my favorite part of the 538 Politics podcast, so I was excited to find him on another show and enjoyed when Harry was hosting alone. I do not enjoy the addition of the other two hosts, and the forced banter is really exhausting. It’s been a couple months and it hasn’t become more natural or endearing. I still listen to 538, but I’m considering unsubscribing from The Forecast. More analysis and fewer jabs, please!
-
PlayNYCjuly15nowBiden and Bernie sympathyMr. Enten, when you said: “... Education matters, ideology matters, age matters, race—less of a player, obviously, in New Hampshire—but voters are not just voting on ideological lines...”, what were you trying to say? Why would race not matter in a primarily “white” state? Race matters. Think about it and maybe next time you won’t sound like you are only speaking to “white voters”.
-
BarkeviouFaux laughs and bonhomieEnten knows his stuff. But the addition of the other two, designed presumably to broaden the pod’s appeal, leads to lots of wasted time and unentertaining shtick. Keep it to politics, cut out the jokiness, please.
-
Black SquirrelsOkay...I am also not a fan of the jokey quips. But I’m torn because Harry genuinely seems to be enjoying himself with his cohosts. Perhaps have a 10min by focused show that breaks down polls and stats. Later release an informal banter/pundit show (possibly on Friday when everyone is generally a little more relaxed). Setting apart the episodes would alleviate some frustrations I feel that jokes sometimes prevent me from getting the hot take.
-
Rev. R. McGlinchyWhat is this?!?I listen to a lot of political podcasts. And a lot of comedy podcasts. This is trying to be both, and failing at both. But Kate’s show on TV is GREAT!! Where is the podcast of that?
-
Ams09mMuch worse 538Harry is a smart guy, but John and Kate are truly insufferable. Smarmy, pompous, and self-aggrandizing are the best ways I can describe those two.
-
ThuppleAll my stars are for Harry, who is NOT creepyI’ve met Creepy, I know Creepy, and you, Mr. Enten, are not Creepy. Just sayin’. G’mar Tov.
-
i5aac_So funny and interestingLove Kate Bolduan!
-
HappyCriticToo much banterBanter gets annoying. Intelligent commentary sometimes gets interrupted before point is finished because the other panelists think they have a clever quip to make. Please focus on commentary. Let people develop and finish their thoughts. Leave the humor mainly to people like Stephen Colbert, who really are good at it.
-
philrenatoThe show itself is goodBut the style of the advertisements remind me of why I prefer a Podcasts to commercial radio or TV – the voice work is way over the top. I probably would not buy those products anyway, and will specifically try to stay the hell away from them based on those ads.
-
MetalishGamesFun and intelligentGreat banter and conversation while intelligently giving the points of what is going on. I enjoy the deeper look at numbers to help understand how these things work.
-
Gee-ratedMore Harry - less everyone else5 Stars for Harry...but I really prefer the “Harry Only” format. Frankly, the others bring the rating down to 3 stars. Harry cuts to the chase and is naturally entertaining. The others feel like wannabes. That includes those forgotten folks from the fist format. I’d rather have 5-10 minutes of just Harry than 20-40 minutes of boring banter of the others.
-
Floyd Lawton 1968Solid,but...I like the information and the show is not bad, but it could be better. John Avlon is tremendous and Harry Enten is rough around the edges as you would expect the numbers guy to be, but he works well. My biggest issue is Kate Bolduan, who has the same problem here that she does on CNN with her time slot. She just comes off as immature and more interested in humor ( her own and others) than coming across seriously. I don’t expect a podcast to come across as super serious, but she just doesn’t seem to take things seriously enough for my tastes. I’m still going to listen because there is great information here, but I am not sure that the show Improves with Bolduan as part of the team. Some might find her routine charming, so some may like this more than I do, but that’s my take.
-
Athbi305Lively and fun discussionsSerious discussions mixed with entertaining and funny commentary. It’s a refreshing, entertaining and positive way of talking about serious issues, which is exactly what I’m looking for.
-
FuzzytmcdoodalsFrustrated with the rebootI’ve always loved Harry and have followed his career for years (still missing him from the 538 podcast). A couple weeks ago this would have been a 5 star review. Since the reboot, however, the data driven analysis had been watered down by morning-show style shenanigans. I come to the forecast for political reporting driven by statistical analysis, delivered by the amazing and hysterical Harry Enton. Now it feels like a pundit-style show that cuts to Harry when they need some numbers to back them up. I’m not against co-hosts in general, or even these new ones in particular. But the whole tone and focus of the pod has changed from Harry and statistical analysis to a talk show aimed at low information voters.

WhyMe4949Entertaining and enlighteningFun and interesting show. Love John, Harry and the always awesome Kate.

Sports listener 123321Awesome ShowGreat show!
-
t-2268Great ShowI love the show. Please fix the sound quality though. Is it recorded in a bathroom?
-
SPP-NYCThe Whiz Kid returnsFor those who followed the Fivethirtyeight podcasts when Harry was the whiz kid, this podcast shows how much he added to the depth of their quantitative analysis. These episodes are smart and pithy and always worthwhile. How about another podcast from Harry in a more extended format?
-
Churchhill W. SnifhrasdToo shortI subscribe to support Harry, but dissatisfied that episodes are too short. Harry himself needs a 30 minute show twice a week, if not more.
-
anonymous31916MehUsed to love Harry on the 538 Politics Podcast, but these fall flat. Too short, overly simplistic, and the little content we do get is interspersed with tiresome Wendy’s references.
-
friendly woodsI hate fast food.I hate fast food, but I love Harry Enten. More Harry is always better. Why so many short shows?
-
Kenny the JettWhat happened?Let me know when they let Harry have more than 5 minutes to give analysis.
-
SeanForgotAgainToo much shilling for Wendy’sGood: Political Analysis Bad: Constant shilling for Wendy’s despite the huge amount of money the Wendy’s Corporate PAC gives to support Republicans.
-
Appexpert1004Too shortIt’s a shame what happened to this podcast. Love Harry but the lengths of each episode are just to short to justify listening.

johnkokorisMy favorite podcast this election seasonThis emerged late in the game as my favorite podcast in the lead up to the election. Can’t wait for 2020 when we’ll be able to listen to far more. The trivia at the end is fun; I wish there was a bit more. Harry is a great personality for podcasting but I think his cohosts are the perfect complements. All in all a well-rounded show.
-
Wanderson564My favorite pod.You guys, as a team, have been building towards the midterms with a chemistry that has become fully realized. Thanks for providing the exact content that helped me navigate the past year and especially this last week. Your work is much appreciated. Especially Clair. 😁
-
Theme music!Great podcastI wish there was more coverage of the model and how it was constructed and wieghted but great show
-
Solre LamiI also wanted to like thisHonestly, you lost me at your equivocation about Steve King. I get that you’re journalists, but at some point, denouncing racists as racists becomes necessary. Your language about King makes him sound like a reasonable human who Democrats can hope to overtake. This is one of the starkest examples of media normalizing this rhetoric. At some point you have to choose a side.
-
Joe PenneyGreat show!Well produced! I would like to see more trivia (but perhaps the level of knowledge required could be better calibrated to the participants).
-
nels1934The whiz kid hits it out of the parkHarry is a savant when it comes to political knowledge. Tune in if you want to learn the nuances of political forecasting.
