m.t.majeskiUsed to be goodUsed to be one of my favorites, but the format changed in 2013, and now they rarely do a show anymore.
-
Podcast_AddictedUsed to be great but now….I loved the old format, but this new format is just not good at all. I loved the old one, because there are not a lot of good Hockey Podcasts, and with this new format there is one less.

CASEHANew format is no goodI used to listen to every episode last season, I actually preferred it over Marek vs. Wyshynski because it was really funny and interesting but the new fall 2013 format has none of that. I tried listening to the first edition of the new interview style podcast and I deleted it halfway because it was boring. I miss the old style! I agree with the previous review, if the podcast goes back to its previous format, this will be a 5 star show.

12threefourNew format works great. The new format of having Justin Bourne interview important people in the hockey world is excellent. The guests are great and you learn a lot of stuff that you wouldn't in a more "what happened last night and what's going to happen tonight." Really excellent.

britnee111Used to be great, but...Used to be a great daily hit of funny hockey talk, but they changed formats in fall 2013 and now it's just weekly interviews with the beat writers you're already tired of hearing from. Not nearly as much fun. If they'd go back to the old format it'd be a 5-star podcast for sure!

INSOMNIATICLove This PodcastThis podcast is not only one of the best hocky pocasts but one of my favorite podcasts out there. No BS, just hockey talk - a rarity these days.

Triforce4392StellarSimply the best hockey podcast around, I listen to it every day on my way home from work. The guys keep it light but extremely informative, just a great job overall!

AlexNYR20Fantastic!I love this show, these guys are super entertaining! I never miss an episode, and I really wish the show was a bit longer or in video format.
-
JustinJFTWBest Hockey PodcastI listen to music and the radio/podcasts all day at work and haven't found any hockey podcast that comes close to providing the insight/analysis/news on a regular basis like this show. Topics are debated from all sides fairly, and the hosts even make me laugh occasionally. Wild! This is all you need from now on.

-
JMH2143Good contentGreat content, enjoy listening. Should have an explicit rating for the F bombs. Overall excellent talking points and knowledge.
-
Birch TreeGreat InsightGreat insight into the NHL in a compact format. I like that it hovers between 30 and 60 minutes long. The Beerability segments are my favorites.

sjsharksfan39Great ShowThis year has seen a resurgence of Great Hockey Podcasts and this show is right there on top with the best of them. Bourne, Pizzo, and Noon are great and there is some awesome hockey discussion each and every day. Not only that, but the show can get really creative, especially with Noon's production to the intros for this year's Stanley Cup Playoff coverage. I hope they continue to do shows in the offseason because I really really do enjoy this show.

KometHockey2AwesomeLove the show, I try to download or at least listen to every episode

HiFiSciFiPizzo+Bourne > Marek+WyshynskiMy only complaint is that it isn't daily during the regular season!

-
thegamerdugNot puck daddy, but better than mostGreat to have pizzo still talking hockey, bourne is great too
-
PolishxGood Real world Hockey CommentaryGood show with squawking about hockey in real terms that both fans and players/former players can relate to. Keeping it original with " beer ability " an the " wager wednesday " especially like the fact it isn't FCC regulated
-
RollalotOutstanding jobYou guys do a great job. The show is informative and very entertaining.
-
Dorfer81Love itGreat way to catch up on the going ons in the world of the NHL. Add to that their humor is a great way to incur puzzled/creeped out looks from fellow subway riders as I stand there with a s-eating-grin on my face. Listening to these guys is like talking hockey with knowledgeable fans rather than being talked down to by the blowhards in the MSM.
-
NikolaiNYRGreat hockey coveragePizzo and Bourne make a great team. They express a great understanding of the game, a healthy dose of humor and generally come of as two guys you'd want to have a great hockey conversation with

longjoydivisonLength creep strikes again!Podcasts have a funny tendency to start out at a decent length and quickly become bloated. The first month or so of the Backhand Shelf podcast seemed like it would avoid this: a half hour on Mondays and Thursdays is just about the perfect length/update frequency for a one-sport podcast. However, I can start to see this podcast falling prey to some of the same problems I have with others. A few episodes lately have run closer to forty-five minutes--sometimes this includes an interview with one hockey personality or another, which is admittedly great--and this week, they announced they're moving from a Monday/Thursday schedule to Monday/Wednesday/Friday. That's just too much. This is no indictment of the show's content--Rob and Justin are knowledgable, funny, and have a great banter. At the end of the day, though, many of us listen to more than just one or two podcasts, and these ones that update three and four times a week are tough to keep up with.

Kingfish13BHSGood start hopefully it continues to succeed
