Jay DeeNolaCool showThis is a cool show and I think the host is likable. There are so many different guests that have diverse perspectives which I think is important for queer people everywhere.
-
MissPearl13Interviewer is lackingI feel like Cameron spends a lot of time speaking about herself than actually interviewing her guest. The Brandi Carlile interview is a perfect example.

Seastar858Love CameronLong term fan, first time reviewer. I’ve followed Cameron since PYHT started and have always loved Cameron’s humor, vulnerability, and conscientiousness. Please keep it coming Cameron! You are a gem.

diligentheartCis het straight mom listeningI am so grateful to have found this awesome loving podcast community to educate me in ways that will allow me to better support my queer kids. They teach me a lot but I feel like it puts an undue burden on them, so I’m really grateful to learn here from Cameron and her guests. I’ve only made my way to November 2017 so far, but I intend to listen to every single episode, for sure. Thank you to all of the community for paving the way for my children. I had no idea how far we have to go, and I am so grateful to all of you for breaking new ground all the time, for all of us.

theograstifaxBoringBoring. Narcissistic host interviews narcissistic guests

BeGibbs11Best Podcast EverThe interviews are so good and so unique each time. I can’t say enough positive things about this podcast and what it means to so many people. It inspires me constantly and helps me feel connected to my community even when I don’t have much access. Thank you!!!
-
gratefulforthispodcastThank youYour interviews are so thoughtful and compassionate- thank you for what you do and the sense of connection you create with guests. I always learn so much!

a little queer in NHComfort and laughsListening to Cameron chat with her guests in such an open, honest, humorous way makes me feel at home and comforted. Realizing we are all humans just making our way through the years, each on our own journey is a lesson I could be reminded of 1000 times before it sinks in. And this podcast is a great reminder. Love it.

KR '14Love thisLove the interviews, especially with Alice Wu and Vico Ortiz, and this podcast prompted me to listen to Save Yourself, which was amazing as an audiobook!

b.abesLet people speak!I like this podcast and the guests Cameron interviews, but I want to hear more from them and less from Cameron. She often brings the conversation back to herself, and the conversation balance feels off. Wish she would ask more questions instead of talking about her experience over and over again.
-
DVMCamOde to queer representationCameron is like the up-and-coming queer Terry Gross. This pod really defines the fact that queer people are just that… people. The host brings the guests stories to light and gives a great platform for all that queer people are and can be. As other stated, can be quirky in that the host turns the attention to their own experiences but it’s somewhat like being a fly on the wall in a conversation between friends. I have not exhausted the episode list but I would love to hear from more queer people in STEM versus the entertainment/art industry.
-
jamieiacoliCameron - shhhhhhhh plz!!!!I really appreciate what Cameron is doing here but as other reviewers have said, I wish she’d allow the people she interviews more time to speak so we don’t have to hear her same stories again and again. I also struggle with how long it will take her to compose a sentence or question; while I think she is trying to do her best to speak with intention and respect, halfway through I know what’s she’s going to say and it just feels like she wants more time in the mic. Pass the miccccccc, Cameronnnnnnnnnm.
-
maggieh400Less from Cameron, more from guestsCameron spends so much time talking about personal anecdotes that even casual fans have heard several times. Guests are frequently cut off so that Cameron can relate to them by sharing the same story for the umpteenth time. I love the concept but the execution is poor.
-
SharkRoombaChan7Queery is the best!Listening to this podcast feels so cozy, knowing every guest will be a rad queer person with a new world view and something to share.
-
Leslie PineLove the guests, wish Carmen would let them talkThe guests on this show are so interesting and I feel like I get introduced to so many different perspectives and insights in the queer community. Just wish the host would let them talk. The host seems to answer her own questions and think every answer she gets from the guest needs her to pause for 5 seconds (dead air) and then say how it relates to stand up or her going to prom. I understand the way conversations are had, the back and forth, but when most of the hour is taken up by that host’s perspective why bother having guests. I’ve tried several times, sorry Carmen wish your show had a different host.

Kate— Ordinary EqualitySuch a great listen! As a queer person who came out later in life having not know ANY out queer people growing up, this podcast is such a lovely way to hear the inspiring stories of so many queer folks! Really in-depth & profound interview style. Love every little thing about Queery!!!
-
Staus1234Please give it a listen!!As a young queer, this podcast is so helpful while trying to navigate being a queer teen. It gives me lots of hope for the future, educates me on other parts of the community, and getting to find new people to connect with.

Awa00Great pod!Cameron is a great interviewer, always a treat to listen to 💛
-
paulewithaneWhat a giftTruly, the richness of these conversations is nourishing. Through personal chats with such a wide variety of humans about their diverse lived experiences, Cameron shows the great paradox that is the more specific, the more universal. What a gift to give listeners a weekly opportunity to reflect on their own lives by learning more about others.
-
Rora ApothicLove the show!Love this show so much! Never end!
-
alisonOD1Big fanCameron does a great job of listening to the experiences of her guests, while also making the conversation comfortable and natural. I’ve learned so much about different experiences in the LGBT community and this podcast has really grown on me over time. I also want to ditto other listeners and say that I like Cameron’s personal style of interviewing, but it does often feel like she is derailing the conversation to talk about the same stories about herself. I think just being a bit more thoughtful about that would be great! Thank you for giving so much of yourself to this work. It’s vital.
-
7437-lockThank youas I am severely at risk of getting emo about this I’m gonna keep it short Very good podcast, thoughtful interviewer. Having Angela Chen and Noelle Stevenson on—WONDERFUL choices. Yasmin Benoit, one day? A thought. Anyways, PS, the host was really great as Rosa’s gf in b99

(The Honorable) Margaret FlyMust Listen PodcastThank you, Cameron, for being an awesome human and for giving back to the community with everything you do. Your show feels like a personal invitation to hang out with some of the coolest people out there (you included, of course). Especially during covid, this podcast has been a godsend for all of us craving community right now.

Jen R.W.Thankful this podcast exists, but constant interruptions are borderline disrespectfulJust another 3-star reviewer here to say that I am so thankful this podcast exists. I value its one-of-a-kind place in podcast media––Cameron Esposito is always evolving the show's topics and language, and that is so crucially important for modern LGBTQ discussion. But I'm torn. As a journalist myself, it's cringeworthy how often Cameron derails the conversation to dive into a personal anecdote that loyal listeners have already heard about on several occasions. As well-intentioned as it is, constantly trying to personally relate backfires after a while and ends up belittling their experiences. It's borderline disrespectful to the guests and totally redundant to loyal listeners. I'd listen to the podcast more often if it weren't for this.
-
madlon96Insightful, compassionate, and affirmingCameron is a brilliant facilitator and I’ve enjoyed each conversation.

3shaQueAddicted to this PodcastI’ve never really invested into PodCasts when they initially became popular. Quarantine had forced me into a genre of media that I first was apprehensive about. I truly enjoy listening to Cameron. The thought and care in her words are truly inspiring. I am a lesbian. She inspires me to evolve with the ever changing landscape of our words and how they transcend with new language. Which includes opening up my perspective to things I never thought I could branch from. She gives true perspective that our community can be together and learn from one another. I’m subscribed to this PodCast and recommend everyone to do the same.

andreascopesLove this!Cameron Esposito is very great to listen to. The topics Cameron is discussing with the guests on the show are so important and help to explore the diversity of humankind.

PrincessSNLMore on guestCarmen! You have a wonderful podcast! I look it up every week. I appreciate you and your perspective. And you have super guests. Thing is, it seems to me the balance between their talking and you talking is leaning more towards you. I care about you and your life: my understanding is the podcast is about your guests. Perhaps I’m a bit off. Would be great to hear more from your guests and their lives and experiences. Thank you

BarennakerLove it so muchI am overwhelmingly glad for this podcast. I feel seen and am absorbing so much inspiration and insight for how to build my community and queer spaces in my hometown, where I didn’t have these spaces growing up. Thank you thank you thank you.

B. AshurBest start to my dayGreat podcast! Cameron is a knowledgeable and inviting host that seamlessly mixes humor with deeper meaningful conversations. This podcast has helped me feel closer to my fellow Queer community. Thanks Cameron!

texasstrykerobsessedI’ve been following Cameron for several years now and she is one of my favorite, most respected comedians. And yet, I love that her brand has continued to evolve and grow into breaking down barriers and uncovering stones in the queer, people of color, and multicultural spaces. The fact that she can bring on such an array of incredible guests, like Fawzia Mirza, Chasten Buttigieg, among many others, speaks to her credibility as a creative professional. I am so proud of her and this podcast!
-
LoloAbroadRefreshing perspectiveCameron is clear about discussing things that "may not feel right to you," and my only hope is that humans who feel that way *are* listening to these podcasts. Listening in on open, honest, light hearted conversations between Cameron and a wide range of humans with incredible backgrounds and lived experiences is a wonderful, low-stakes way to open perspectives. For me, it's a connection to the queer community as I live abroad and feel like I'm floating in the abyss at times without much queer grounding. I am eternally grateful for everything I've learned, and for the way Cameron uses this and other platforms to discuss incredibly relevant topics.
-
LIFEC4TGreat but please let your guests speak!!!Cameron pays attention. She pays attention to current events, upcoming artists, big stars, and disregarded voices. She pays attention to when she gets it wrong and is humble when she is not knowledgeable on a subject. She speaks honestly and openly and makes her guests comfortable and safe. My only critique is that she needs to give a bit more time to her guests during episodes. I’m sure her intent in sharing personal anecdotes is to be vulnerable with her guests and audience, and I love that I never forget our collective humanity because of her empathy. But sometimes she tells the same stories in multiple episodes. More importantly, there are too many times that she stops her guest in the middle of their story or sentence to interject with one of her stories or longer bouts of commentary. By the time she finishes, the guest has lost their momentum or thought, and I am left wishing I knew what they were going to say! Especially as a white person, she needs to check herself in those moments to make sure she isn’t becoming a person who takes space from or talks over her guests of color. Cameron, you’re great, just work on self-editing and pulling back and you’re good!
-
merewomGreat, but can be irksomeI need to start by saying I love this podcast. I love the stories, the guests, and the journeys. That being said, Cameron has the ability to turn every conversation into her own life story. I get it, it makes what the guest says relatable! But it also turns it into a show that makes the guest the second most important thing. The constant interruptions just to say “oh I want to talk about that later” drives me nuts. And, of course, the long thoughtful pauses that completely take me out of the story being told to check to see if my phone stopped working. I do remember Cameron saying she believes the pauses are important so the listener can understand her thought process, but oof. I know this seems like a lot of negativity, but I do truly love this podcast and I love what it does to try to unite the queer community AND it gives people outside of the community a new perspective. I just wish it would focus more on the fascinating and inspiring guest rather than the host.

;f;aieProfound, Tender, and Just. So. Funny.Love everything about Queery! ~The mingling of tender sharing with wickedly funny irreverence. ~A rainbow of voices and folks. ~Cameron beautifully weaves her own stories into each conversation. ~Deeply relatable and powerfully thought provoking. Just. So. Good.

Kelly in NHImportant representation and moving storiesI have always loved this show and have met some amazing people that Cameron has interviewed, but this weeks episode with Bex Taylor Klaus was the most amazing 60 minute commute I’ve ever spent. Thank you for introducing me to Bex!
-
AliceJJJJThoughtful, Insightful InterviewsCameron is a thoughtful, inquisitive host whose questions are always swaddled in compassion and cut through with a childlike, innocent curiosity. I enjoy learning new queeros through all walks of life—lawyers, fiction writers, stand-up comedians, etc.
-
TinyDancerSaritathis podcast just keeps getting betterI've been listening on and off since following PYHT, and I feel like the last few months this podcast has really hit its stride! In the early days I felt like there was a lot of hollywood/LA insider talk- celebrities talking to celebrities. But my favorite episodes are folks from other industries- writers, musicians, business people whose unique contexts we get to learn about and see something of ourselves in. Cameron has become such a compassionate and probing interviewer in the best way- i keep feeling like yes! So many comedians are interviewers these days but few have social work backgrounds to really connect with people on their level.
-
cuthbertrsReminds me of my fabulous queer activist therapistI had this radical queer therapist in Seattle who I miss a lot. Cameron asks thoughtful questions that remind me of her and that bring out really awesome parts of her fabulous guests.
