Jconnly86New listenerI really like this podcast but for the love of god please pronounce words correctly! You should know how to say the names and locations correctly if you have a past about it. They even mispronounced “southern”. Really?
-
Mathu80Fine Background NoiseIf you have a hankering for mansplaining and mispronounced main character names, this is the podcast for you! You can even make a drinking game out of the word “leal,” assuming you don’t listen while driving.
-
MuhuhhahahaDUDE NOTHING HAPPENED!!Nothing happened in season 2
-
Sonny1298ValyriaAnd Valyrian rhyme with ‘Syria’ and ‘Syrian’. Valyrian and Velaryon aren’t pronounced the same. My only beef! Love the pod!
-
wmcole214Good podcast, thoroughBut we have to stop using the word leal. Stop trying to make leal happen, it’s not gonna happen.
-
L.C.F.LfffDon’t understand the negative reviews…these guys are great! Highly recommend!
-
katnotkattGood but room for improvementI typically enjoy their talks but we are in season 2. For the love of God, please pay attention to name pronunciation. Rhaenys (ray-neese) - it shouldn’t rhyme with anus Helaena (huh-lane-uh) Larysn (lair-is)

LR712Why Watch The Show If You Have So Many ComplaintsNew Guest is horrific and just whines and cries about the smallest writing misses
-
That girls a monsterEhThe hosts come off as arrogant . The voices are kinda annoying and their love of the horrible choices the writers are making for season 2 of Hotd . I used to like the show but I find them too annoying to listen to anymore . They also didn’t accept others options and the one lead male host is so obnoxious thinks he’s funny and always has to be right, talks over the others . It’s not the best
-
jake6198Will NEVER listen! If u want to talk coffee dont lead it with House of Dragon. . Goodbye.Horrible Thought I was going to listwn House of Dragon. I hate this! Never
-
pieceofdebriOne starOne star for the incessant whinging about the ending of Game of Thrones. They sound ridiculous every time they do it.
-
bookappealThey take HotD seriously but not themselvesI cribbed that from another reviewer because it’s spot on. House of R is so self-righteous I had to stop listening. I don’t mind the mispronunciations because, heck, aren’t we ALL mispronouncing these characters’ names and getting them mixed up? The word ‘leal’ annoys me, too, but at least these guys keep it REAL and respect their listeners by *enhancing* enjoyment of the show instead of trying to become the main act.

Ser WorfWednesdayLeal Friends Come Again!House of the Dragon fans, rejoice! The weekly analysis from Jim and Aron on Bald Move is an auditory adventure like no other. Every episode keeps you on your toes, never knowing when you'll be delightfully surprised by a new, inventive pronunciation of your favorite character's name. Who needs consistency when you can have the thrill of guessing if Varys will be Viserys this week? Their creative takes on words like 'pious' and 'magnanimous' add a charming unpredictability to the show. It's a fun game trying to figure out what they're actually trying to say—makes you feel like part of an exclusive club (one better than the official Bold Move Club) For those worried about minor mispronunciations like 'ray-NIECE' turning into 'r-ANUS,' fear not! It’s all part of the quirky charm that makes this podcast stand out. It's not about the perfect delivery, but the passion behind it. Listening to Jim and Aron is like a leal companion by your side, steadfast in their devotion to the show, even if their pronunciations sometimes waver. Sure, it might feel like getting punched in the face with every unexpected slip, but it's a punch filled with love and enthusiasm that keeps you engaged and coming back for more. So, if you're ready to lend your voice to the grand chorus of pronunciation pleas while enjoying some of the best show analysis out there, Bald Move's podcast on House of the Dragon is a must-listen. Instant loss of credibility? More like instant entertainment value! Five stars, hands down (unless your riding with those Brave Companions)!

HH1984!The OG GOT and HOTD Podcast Breakdown ShowI’ve been listener of this show since the early days... By far the best, and in my opinion, the ONLY show to listen to for analysis of the GOT and HOTD series. They watch the shows closely (multiple times), source the books, compare the differences between the shows and books, take listener feedback, and provide thoughtful insights as the season unfolds. I can’t just watch the shows… I need this companion content to make each episode more enjoyable! Keep up the great work!

BrandiHandfulHad to unfollow. These guys make truly weird calls. Alyn is clearly Corlys’ son, not lover. That was the last straw for me. You have to have more insight than this to do a podcast.
-
SlappyConQuesoSpoiLORLove the boys discussing all things GOT and HOT D! Pure show watcher but love the deep book lore spewed by the bearded one. Thank you!
-
ZKaferGood content, needs some polishingI enjoyed the weekly analysis greatly, but there needs to be a stronger emphasis on pronunciation. We need consistent pronunciation of the names of characters, because it’s confusing enough getting the names straight. Also, it’s confusing when they are clearly referring to Varys but saying Viserys. In addition, please figure out how to pronounce words, such as pious, magnanimous, etc.
-
Coni.PatiGood God!ray-NIECE !!!! not r-ANUS !
-
ISpankEmBy far the bestThis is the best House of the Dragon podcast by any measure. They have great insights, they know their stuff, and they’re fantastic at noticing those little things that make me rewatch the show to notice, too. LOVE this podcast!
-
MaineMom14Insightful, informative, funny, and funVery insightful and eye-opening without unnecessary detail. Funny but not snarky or mean. They take HoTD seriously but don’t take themselves too seriously. Listening to Bald Move pods doubles my enjoyment of the shows themselves. Thanks for all you do guys!
-
Coooper888888Pronounce Rhaenys correctly, please!!Lending my voice to the plea to pronounce Rhaenys correctly. You do it sometimes then slip back into the mispronunciation. Instant loss of credibility.
-
BoBaurenYou should listenGreat show - smart, funny, insightful, no-b.s., no-gatekeeping… love it. As with all their shows, they’re just two dudes who are really good at what they do - not industry insiders, so it is a different perspective. And they have sounded professional (good sound quality, editing, etc.) from the start of all their podcasts. Recommend any of their shows for the tv/movie fan. A.Ron did co-author a book about the religions of Westeros, so don’t think these guys are lightweights. They know their stuff. (If you’re doing a GoT rewatch and haven’t listened to their GoT pod, do that now!)

Edmund from BuffaloOfficially Unofficial 5 Stars!I had to give you gentlemen a shout out. You do an excellent job, I can’t thank you enough for all the hard work you put into the show. Engaging conversation, very in depth and appreciate lore checks and detailed analysis. This has been my favorite pod for awhile now and it is absolutely entertaining and brings so much joy! You help expand the scope of Westeros in my mind and have insightful takes that just add so much detail to what we are watching unfold on screen. Rock on!
-
AmaaaazedPlease stop with the lealIt’s like getting punched in the face everytime you use it and I don’t want to stop listening to the show I otherwise enjoy.
-
Vgalvan18Uhhh, uhhh, uhhhI couldn’t finish the episode. Just shuddering, uhh-ing constantly. Not a professional podcast.
-
Bigbk 5dc6Great podcast.I love this podcast for the show. Really great reviews and insights! I also like that they don’t give spoilers for people who have not read the book. You have to take a shot though anytime they say “leal” though.
-
ahehcnekxnsjxWon’t subscribeOmg this is so much better than the last two seasons of GOT and these bros are nitpicking the smallest stuff. Moving on.
-
IIChoochIIIt’s greatStop trying to make leal happen, it’s not gonna happen. You used the word around 14 times across your threefold coverage of HOTD 201 including your ad stingers. Never quicker have I learned a word and then suddenly have it not sound like anything anymore. Thanks
-
Dub2305Thanks!Show is always top notch and definitely the best pod for any/all things in the Game Of Thrones universe. Favorite running gag is "mildly interesting"...haha
-
chris justisBestI’m bias because I’m a bald move subscriber but I found them through this GOT podcast several years ago. They simply are the best. There is no better GOT or HOTD coverage out there
-
horgarMostly GoodDropped it another star. Now it is simply leftist bingo calling. Get you card and wait for the show. Don’t play it as a drinking game as their complete immersion in leftist culture will have you dead drunk in 15 minutes. At this point, what started as a really great show has been killed by Electric Bookaloo.
-
ArndisneyNo Real ContentIt’s clear the host has run out of ideas…boring and bland if you’ve listened into 23/24 #fail
-
Marzipan FranziPay them moreI will literally start a new series so that I can listen to their coverage. A++++++++++++
-
Playa 4 LyfeBest GOT PodcastARon and Jim are masters of the podcasting art form. The detail, humor, analysis, & overall good time they provide while breaking down all things game of thrones is amazing. Aron brings all the deep lore knowledge having read everything from the song of ice and fire universe, including writing his own book. Jim brings the fresh untainted view of someone who has only seen the tv shows. This combination is awesome in my opinion, I’m a book reader as well. If you want more game of thrones / house or the dragon this is the place to go!
-
ibmx08Fran!So cool that Fran Duffy has been joining Maester Anthony and Steve. I’m from Philly, I’ve read Fran’s work, I’ve listened to his Eagles pod. What an unexpected but very interesting connection. Curious to know how you guys got together. Idea for a fun game to bring both worlds together; Draft your team of knights, dragons, and power-players to battle over the Iron Throne.
-
robotk75Officially (in my unofficial opinion) the Best HotD PodcastA.Ron and Jim are the lealest in the podcast game! If starting a rewatch of any of the Baldmove covered shows I highly suggest spreading out your binge and listen to the coverage from these two. Add in the guest appearances from Dr. Anthony. No one covers this shown better, including HBO themselves!
-
c minaRAY-NEICE Trolled LOLTruly my favorite HOTD podcast out there. I love the thoughtful insights and chemistry between Aron and Jim. And I love it despite of Aron trolling me the entire season for being grossed out by his pronouncing of Rhaenys’ name as RAY-NUS cause it sounded like anus lol !! Which by the way, led to my husband laughing at me every time he joke corrected himself from RAY-NEICE to RAY-NUS. But it’s ok cause it made me laugh too. Felt like a wink to me each episode hahaha. I was also vindicated when both hosts agreed with my take on Daemon’s motivations with Rhaenyra in the eyes wide shut episode, so there! So sad we have such a long wait until next season. Love you guys ! -Christine
-
mthur1531Home runIt’s baseball season I know we’re not all fans… but you guys have knocked it out of the park again. Glad to have you back in Westeros, it’s been a long, dark, cold couple of years.
-
lotoja206They bring it!Entertaining as heck!!!
-
Maddie TorskopetCan’t get enough of Jim and A RonThe chemistry , humor, and knowledge these guys bring to the table is something to behold! Truly the best tv and movie podcast around.
-
KalgaerA fantastic weekly listening for your favorite series!I love listening to Aaron and Jim’s thoughts/takes about the episodes week to week. They provide excellent color and commentary following each episode.
-
Old School 73Can’t Beat A-Ron & Jim!I’ve been a longtime fan of these two from their Game of Thrones podcast — and House of the Dragon is no different. I look forward to their in-depth discussion and 3 podcasts per week breakdown as much as I do the actual episode of television! They keep me entertained, and their analysis is both insightful while also being grounded and often times very funny. The listener feedback episode is always interesting and entertaining as well, I like how controversial this show is, and how there’s so many ways to interpret the same scene — and because of their breakdown, I get to see so many different opinions & viewpoints. I may have to even go back and listen to GoT episodes again once HOTD is on hiatus — the GOT spark has been lit again! Keep up the great work guys! Appreciate your hours upon hours of content — those of us in the commuter life thank you!!
-
micahjanelleFun listenI looked forward to this every week after the show! Great hosts. I love how they each showed their personalities!
-
macostacruzAbsolutely compelling analysisSo glad House of the Dragon brought back to us Jim and A.Ron with their thorough and heartfelt takes on this season and on all things Westeros. Welcome back, old friends!
-
aneirynckPretty DisappointingIt seems like they pay little attention to the episode they’re watching… and then record three podcasts about it.
-
Sonja121187HotNopeTruly the worst takes of all the podcasts I’ve listened to. And you think you deserve screeners?
-
Lenafree2021PronunciationHelaena Targareon. Ha-lay-nah. Not the bungle you dudes say. Thanks
-
bnicqCome on manHahaha, really? Rhaenys’s actions at Aegon’s coronation mean she is declaring for the greens? No one else came to that conclusion. No one. Did you read the book? You lost me there, guys.

LouSmith434MisogynisticLove all the mansplaining

KleiniasA politically correct view of GoTUpdate: They treat HotD much the same way they did GoT. It’s an enjoyable listen while still being a bit odd when they take current day left leaning social norms and use that as the lens in which to view HotD from. This podcast is a look and review of Game of Thrones through a left leaning and politically correct lens. As long as you are used to that (and if you listen to a lot of podcasts you know this is par for the course) then you will be fine with this one. They reason through things to the best of their abilities and I find the podcast pretty enjoyable.
