Such a fun, interesting and upbeat podcast… even if there’s dark content!

Fabulous podcast. Great stories. Hosts are fun and entertaining. Really enjoying episodes.

I want to love this show. Jordan seems like a decent human, but he doesn’t call his guests out on their terribly bigoted opinions, and he doesn’t give trigger warnings when discussing SA, which is low grade unacceptable in 2024. I desperately want to give this show a 5-star rating because I LOVE the Encounters with Creeps series (though I do recommend Jordan and Madelayne take sensitivity training if they’re going to be discussing SA). But unfortunately this is more a 2.5 stars podcast, entirely due to Paul Palango. He’s such a creepy bigot, it makes me want to scream. Take your trashy 1950s opinions and exit stage right, Paul. Being in journalism for a billion years doesn’t make you a) a good person, nor b) right about everything. Jordan does his whole show and his listeners a disservice by platforming someone so gross as Paul Palango. More Encounter with Creeps, less platforming creeps!!

Update June 14, 2024: Jordan, you & Aaron are ☠️ing me with Keep Canada Weird!!! I’ve listened to your crime episodes since the Nova Scotia shooting massacre. I’ve listened to all the crime & interview episodes since then, but didn’t partake of the Weird ones. Oh my, it’s like finding a chest of gold at the end of a rainbow. I wish I could get out more so I could be a foreign correspondent. I also really need stickers, but my voice is gnarly & I’m not sure what I would say. Anyway, until next time. I love you guys!!! Found you a few years ago through Dark Poutine. I’ve been digging your podcast ever since. I love all the episodes, but especially the Keep Canada Weird episodes. Jordan & Aaron are so fun together! I found this podcast from listening to Morbid on the glove man story. I just knew I had to follow this podcast and listen every week. I can’t get enough! Great podcast!!!

I love this podcast when it’s just Jordan or Jordan and a family member. Madelayne does not add anything of substance. I find myself cringing at her “takes” on the cases. The re-airing of The Glove Guy series is indicative. She found the whole thing funny and “weird” instead of predatory and hazardous even after a victim had described how he had been hurt. Also: With Madelayne, there’s so much boring talk about the weather or if she’s heard of the town the case happened in. I have to skip multiple minutes in to get to the case-passing over anecdotes about cats and her views on TikTok. Who cares? Please go back to the old format and get rid of Madelayne. Her relationship with the cases has a gross air to me. Her connection (however minuscule) to the case/location feels more important to her than the fact that a human being was hurt.

Really crass and cringy how they laugh about glove guy an episode after a victim describes how awful the experience was for him.

HOW do you guys share these innocent people getting victimized and literally sexually assaulted AND LAUGH AND LAUGH!!!!??? It’s not funny. You are so gross. IT IS ILLEGAL TO SEXUALLY ASSAULT SOMEONE!!!! MEN ARE LAUGHING BECAUSE ITS EMBARRASSING!!! YOU ARE IDIOTS! FIX THIS!!!! THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE IN PRISON AND YOU GUYS MAKE ME SICK!

Particularly in the Murder of Nurse Lori case. So much was excluded that mattered.

I’ve been a long time on and off listener (I cycle through and swap out my regulars frequently). I got hooked during the Emma Fillipoff series. I’m in the US so these stories are usually new to me. My two “cons” are 1) Madalayne’s strong opinions- and I could be reading it wrong but I feel like Jordan is constantly having to redirect to keep her from offending people when she’s throwing them around and 2) the titles of the episodes are messy and overwhelming. Without better organization and/or numbering, it’s kind of hard to tell which episodes are parts of a series without digging around. I love the Encounter with a Creep episodes! I’m constantly making notes to myself of things to talk to my kids about so that they can react appropriately to creeps at any age! Keep up the good work.

Even though I’m in Texas, it’s fascinating to learn random things about Canada through this podcast. I listen during the day but every night I turn on a replay of Aaron Airport episodes as the banter between the two of you makes me feel like I’m falling asleep listening to friends. Lol

I have no idea how I stumbled upon this podcast a few years ago but I am glad I did! I love the expansion with episodes of keep Canada weird and Canadian gothic!

...and he just keeps getting better and better. I truly hope he is able to be a full time podcaster/interviewer and never has to work a day job again. Fantastic show. EDIT 8/23:Let’s be done with having Paul on the show and not have him come back. We’d like you to be the ONLY host. I understand why you’d have him on for a little bit, but he quickly became overbearing and unbearable. Thanks. 😻show

What I really dig about this podcast is all the varied content. I enjoy the variety of topics, especially the Encounters with Creeps and Keep Canada weird series.

This show blends several formats and themes, but the reason I listen is because it’s Nighttime. The way Jordan covers topics and brings his personality to the show give it a distinct, chill vibe, and the show’s viewpoint is life-affirming and vital. This show has been around several years now, and I hope its essential voice will be around for many years to come.

I love the podcast when there's variety and canadian history being discussed, but the constant shooting updates are kind of annoying 3 years on.

I’m a U.S. listener who loves Jordan’s voice, delivery and choice of off best topics and appreciate the absence of commercial noise. Also LOVE the jazzy noir theme music, so middle of the night!

I am not from Canada, but love this show. If you are interested in true crime or off the wall things, this is the show for you!

I love this podcast and can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find it. The host has a soothing voice and presents the stories in a way that is interesting and comprehensive. I admired his interviewing style and love his soothing voice. Definitely one to check out if you enjoy first hand narrative interviews.

Really milking this Nova Scotia mass shooting deal. Super boring. Just do it as a new podcast for those who care about it.

Found you through the Morbid gals and I’m already hooked. Started with the Valentines massacre and moving onto more. I’m really impressed by the quality of content and production. You ask great questions and the insight given is very compelling.

Thank Morbid for sending me this way but I can’t get enough. Also the accent is just as good as the podcast <3 it’s always great to learn about true crime in Canada as well. I wish I could give this 20,50 or even 100+ stars.

Loved Jordan so much on the Morbid podcast, I had to come listen and I’m glad I did!

No idea how I found this but I think Jordan is a great host. He is interested, curious and kind. Stories are just askew enough to grab me so that I have visited the Shag Harbor Museum, listened to more Ashley McIsaac and bought Paul Palango’s book. I enjoy the theme music too. So sad that I’m in the states and our Timmy HoHo’s closed down:( Their ice coffee had great crumbly ice and maybe a religious icon image on the wall…

Love the content and the interviewer sounds like such a nice guy, but he needs to insert less of himself in the interviews. Let the people tell their stories! Jordan, don’t be afraid to pause, skip a beat, and let people elaborate. Some of your questions are leading and presumptuous (out of your own kindness/empathy) but this impacts the person’s natural telling of the story. You also seem to follow up too quickly with more questions somewhat as a nervous tic. I’d love to see this podcast succeed, and thank you for the content you’ve produced.

They seem to spend time talking about what they’re going to do as opposed to just doing it. Nobody comes here to hear about plans or to be told about someone else’s idea about a show. Just do the show. You made the podcast difficult to Navigate to find shows. People just want the show. Ads are bad enough. Ads were enough to drive me back to audiobooks but now talking about what you’re going to do is like a long ad. Just do shows. But since now this podcast is too difficult to organize and delete shows that are not shows I just delete the entire thing.

Wow, you reallyyyyy put forth a ridiculous amount of effort relaying how much you dislike this podcast…. If you didn’t like it, why not simply move on to the next whatever-it-is-that-will-undoubtedly-disappoint you? You didn’t need to slam this guy’s podcast like you did.

Not too weird, not too mainstream, but just right. Topics vary and are well told. Great variety on resources to keep it fresh, often with all angles covered. Jordan is pleasant and relatable.

You drew me in with the glove guy! Love your podcast! I am a die hard true crime listener! Repping the night time gear for 2022! I also loved your son’s cat pod cast! Keep on investigating those aliens and the spree killings and say hi to Paul! I live in New Bedford, ma USA and giggle every time you say decals😁.

Love all kinds of pods but this one was great too. My only complaint is the constant music in the background until the show starts. I have sensitive hearing and the background music hurts my ears. Plus then I cannot actually hear the actual podcast for the first few minutes. Otherwise great podcast. Keep it up!

This is a fantastic show with amazing guests and a great interview style. BUT the audio quality is so poor. It seems to be a lot of recordings off of zoom? A small upgrade would this make show great.

Come on now. Did I really just listen to a podcast about a lady who received a used necklace. I kept waiting for the big reveal of what this was actually about but that was it. Give me a break. How ridiculous can you be. Yes it had ashes in it but grow up. That is NOT news worthy or episode worthy in the slightest. No wonder Amazon did not respond. Geez.

Until Paul Palango became a cohost. First and foremost, I truly appreciate calling law enforcement out for their insular, protective propaganda. And I completely agree that the RCMP did an ATROCIOUS job with the Nova Scotia rampage. However, I honestly feel that with no balance to Palango’s very obvious personal biases it’s just a platform for him to gripe. He doesn’t sound professional, he sounds like your annoyed, overly-opinionated uncle at every holiday function; he self-aggrandizes, shows contempt for domestic abuse victims, and from these interviews, offers very little evidence of what he espouses. I guess if I had a subscription to the magazine he writes for I could get the full story, but I don’t, so maybe stop having him on the show if we can’t get the full story. (I’m an American so have no dog in the RCMP fight.) I appreciate that Jordan is trying to give a more comprehensive and very necessary criticism of how this tragedy was handled, but Palango is almost unbearable. And the episodes with him now seem unending. The topic doesn’t have to stop being covered, but I’m begging for a different perspective.

I listened to several episodes and I’m not thrilled. The interviews in a few were not edited. The host uses “like” and stutters over questions making it hard to listen to a good flow. It seems like questions and timelines are in need to ease into a story. There are only so many “and um, like, to to” I’m a Patreon subscriber so I am sticking it out. I’m being kind and hoping not to offend the host. I appreciate the research and stories being told.

I love this podcast because you research and have friends and family tell their story. I hope everyone is found, murders are solved and no one ever has to go through this pain. ❤️

Excellent narrative of the horrific event however, the 3 stars are because I found it particularly jarring that one of the podcasters kept reiterating how awful it was that a police officer died. He made it pretty clear that it bothers him more so than the civilians, than the mothers murdered in front of their children. Police officers are paid to put themselves in harms way, their deaths are awful but I get so disgusted with the idea that their lives count more than others. They don’t.

I like the podcast, but please get rid of the music. It hard to hear when the guests are speaking. It adds absolutely nothing to the podcast.
