What happens when two geniuses meet? How do great duos -- like the Beatles' Lennon and McCartney, or Google's Larry Page and Sergey Brin -- manage to change the world together? What about when the sparks start to fly?

Every great collaboration is a love story. It’s intense. Passionate. Along the way, there’s flashes of love, hate, pride, ego, ambition, and brilliance. From Wondery, the company behind the hit podcasts "Business Wars" and "American Scandal," comes ONE PLUS ONE, an ongoing series about the fascinating stories of two great minds coming together to accomplish something they never could on their own.

In each series, hosts Rico Gagliano (Safe for Work) and Faith Salie (CBS' Sunday Morning) will bring you the ups and downs of the world's greatest collaborations, and what we can learn from these pairs in our own work and life relationships.

    What Happened?
There used to be so many seasons. I keep the show around in hopes they’ll be brought back. The other shows were great. My favorite was the Russian Revolution with Lenin and Trotsky. I’d love to see it brought back, even if none of the others.

    3 Great Subjects So Far
I've really enjoyed the idea of having another star in your orbit makes you shine brighter. That's been true with Frida & Diego, McCartney & Lennon, and Kobe & Shaq. Can't wait to see who's next.

    Weird re-enactments
The host’s re-enactments of Lenin and trotsky are pure silliness. I’m sure the podcast is good since there are so many positive ratings, but I was totally distracted when she started pretending she was each of them in a conversation. Ruined it for me.

    More, please!
I really enjoy this show. Hoping there’s more to come.

    Good stuff!
Not a Lakers fan, nor a Kobe or Shaw fan, but this series was so well told, that I’m looking forward to the next series. Of course, Wondery’s quality is seen in the sound design and production.

    Too many and not enough
Where are the women on your podcast? You’ve chosen almost entirely men to shine the spotlight on. Get with it!

    Overlapping audio
What the hell is this? This first few minutes are a chaotic, unlistenable overlap of two different audio streams.

Interesting stories but don’t like the editorializing.
The podcast covers interesting topics-in particular I enjoyed hearing about Frida Cahlo. However, the hosts, while telling the stories, will speak “as the characters”, but will not change up their voices at all. That is, they may speak as Kobe, Shaq, or Phil Jackson, but every voice sounds the same. Furthermore, they are clearly editorializing the characters, as they will quote them saying things that they clearly didn’t say or that there is likely no evidence of them saying. It just makes the podcast cringy and difficult to listen to, especially when the podcast is otherwise well researched.

    Missed it
Waited too long to hear Paul and John. So disappointed. I hope it comes back up. Bummer.

Educational and a lot of fun...
A few ideas to consider: JFK and LBJ... Martin and Lewis... Abbot and Costello.... Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor... John Adams and Thomas Jefferson... Jobs and Wozniak

    Missing my fav podcast
Enjoyed listening to all the shows thus far —even the one on the Kardashians. Looked forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays when the next episodes dropped. Can’t believe you went on hiatus with no anticipated return date. Doesn’t sound promising.

Why is One plus One going on a Break???
I love love love this podcast. I look forward to it every week, it inspires the way I work and look to the future!! Really hope it resumes soon, and I’ll miss it in the meantime.

Maybe be a little less biased in your style?
While others are criticizing for doing a Kardashian episode, with the assumption that they don’t deserve one. I was disappointed with the sarcastic and condescending tone that most of those episodes had. If you can’t keep your bias out of the storytelling....don’t cover it.

I loved this podcast up until the Kardashians...

    Loved Frida and Diego
Wonderfully done. Super interested in more like this. I did not like the Kardashians episodes. How about Roy Rogers and Jean?

    Great stuff
Love this podcast and I am a big fan of everything Wondery does. Love the Rivera season and the Kardashian season. Very clever on the Kardashian one. Good to be open to new perspectives.

    Regret
I loved season 1&2. Both brilliant and educational. But I can’t believe they did a season on the Kardashian’s! Simply for that I’m unsubscribing and no longer recommending this podcast. I’m a firm believer that we should make stupid people famous.

    Great idea!
Loved the Frida & Diego podcasts!!! ❤️ Very interesting and I think this portrayed them well.

    Pls unsubscribe me
I was enjoying the podcast, that is, until the Kardashian’s showed up. Why are people so obsessed with these people. I was really into the McCartney and Lennon episodes and I understand why you had to end those. There are so many accomplished, talented and interesting collaborators. Please unsubscribe me.

Had great hopes until the Kardashians...
..says it all. Count me among the public who sees this family as odious and unworthy of indulgence.

    Liked, like and waiting
I really enjoyed all of the series. I was disappointed to see that the Kardashian’s made the cut. I get it though, they have an impact on pop culture worth exploring, just not my thing. I’ll just skip the Kardashian season and wait for the next amazing season to drop. Keep up that great work.

At the end of the day
All three girls have done very well, even if mom started it all. Most kids these day kids will just ask for more money instead of working for hard. They have all worked hard to keep it going and mom as well. I’m proud of what they have accomplished and with I could do a10th. Good luck to the future.

Mostly just summaries of what happened
I expected some fresh insight on the relationships of famous pop culture duos... but most of the episodes just provide a superficial account of what happened. I could get the same takeaways from Wikipedia.
  • RebeekaV
    All good until the Kardashians
Really? They don’t get enough media coverage? Seems a waste of your research and insight to cover such a ridiculous subject.
  • iamkarz
Frida and Diego season was meh
It wasn’t much of a story. Every episode it would just say that the “best work will come up when she’s at her worst” (i’m paraphrasing). But every episode mentions that and i get it. So it wasn’t much of 1+1 but 1-1. This rating is for this season alone. The Kobe and Shaq was great and the production is good.
  • Perkcasso
    Was loving this until...
The first three stories were terrific, then they picked the Kardashians as the next subject for six episodes. Sorry but I have no interest in them or their rise. I may come back to the podcast after the Kardashian story is over. That being said; the show is well produced, well researched and as entertaining as it is thought provoking. My 3 star rating is simply for the current subject matter. I may amend my rating at a later date.

I really liked the first McCartney and Lennon series. Where did it go? I told my brother to listen and it was not there anymore.

Narration and Production Value is A+
I listen to a lot of story telling podcasts. Honestly, after a while they all start to sound a like. One Plus One brings a fresh concept, pro level narration and high level productiion value. No matter the duo they will find a way to keep it fresh, interesting an entertaining.
  • J$1983
    Kardashians?!
After two great stories, why the Kardashians?! Please stay on stories about people with talent instead of the worst part of our pop culture.
  • Even more lucidity
    Promising and well-produced but disappointing
The premise of the series is fascinating: what makes two people bring out the best in each other and themselves? Why are good collaborations so much more than the sum of their parts? The first several episodes were stunningly good, but you’ll probably never get to hear them because the producers forgot to negotiate the rights to all the song clips they used. All of the Lennon/McCartney episodes were taken down after just a few weeks, and it’s hard to give this podcast a great rating based on something you’ll never get to hear. The next two series, Kobe/Shaq and Frita/Diego, were also excellent. I’d give the whole podcast a great review up to this point, if they’d done their jobs and gotten the rights settled. And then the podcast jumped the shark. I don’t know if they’re just pandering to popularity, but no one named Kardashian has ever made anything profoundly creative or accomplished anything of interest to thinking adults. (Unless you count Kim Kardashian’s Kardashian’s ‘collaboration’ with her boyfriend and their camcorder. But I do not.) I was a slightly disappointed fan until now, but it will be a long time before I listen to One Plus One again.
  • hello beloved
    Amazing!
I’m a big Frida fan, seen her movie and her artwork in real life, but I didn’t understand Frida and Diego’s relationship. Now I realize they had a beautiful, but misunderstood relationship. She is the real “ride or die” wife. Also, he loved her in his own way. The Kobe and Shaq was awesome too. I’m not a big sport fan, but it explain the locker room relationship off the court. I can’t wait to hear more, I enjoy the behind the scenes history story

    Frida and Diego
The Frida and Diego series was so beautiful, interesting and well done. Definitely some of my favorite podcasting to date!

Just get on with the podcast

    Cannot stop listening
Frida and Diego’s relationship was no doubt an interesting one to say the least but the way Faith and the team have put this together is fantastic. Do yourself a favour and find a comfy spot to settle in because you won’t want to turn this off!

Great story - keep it up
So season one was fantastic - the Lennon/McCartney dynamic duo was presented as both war and peace. Knowing a bit already - this story helps fill in more gaps which continued to form the glue to what I had already known. Sadly season 1 was taken down - let us know why...is there a dispute or issues with the content? Now listening to season two...(or will season one vanish forever and have the Shaq/Kobe season take over as season 1?). All in all great story telling - with the voice overs and soundtracks added in - it creates a story like an old time radio production. The podcast has taken over the radio in my car and I wait for the next episode to come out. [**bring back season 1! Or, re-edit it so you can...**] EDIT 4/14/19: thank you for the update about Paul McCartney and John Lennon. Exactly what I was looking for and was thinking too. It was taken down due to a request over a question on music rights. My hope is that the dispute can find a remedy and we can have those episodes reloaded back up. It was an excellent start to the series. I’m not a religious viewer of basketball, but the Kobe/Shaq relationship was excellent! Looking forward to Frida! Keep up the great work!

    Don’t 1-star it over a legal issue...
The first season was great. They had to pull it over music licensing, which is unfortunate, but it was well put together and engaging storytelling. They did the work, and the work was good. I don’t think the mistake deserves 1-star reviews, and outrage. The negative reviews over this (especially if you hadn’t heard it) seem a bit entitled. Having said that, the second season was also great. I’m not a basketball fan, and couldn’t have cared less about Kobe, Shaq, or what happened between them. By the end of the season, I was rooting for them, and wanted to know how it ended. Again, great storytelling. Wondery makes high-quality shows with outstanding production, and this is no exception.

    Bait and Switch?
I subscribed to hear about John and Paul and then those episodes disappear. Big waste of time!

    Season 1?
    Where is it????

    Getting weirder
It’s a well-produced podcast. I gave 3 stars when the Beatles season was removed. Now it seems like it’s coming back? Kinda? A couple episodes, but they still are part of season one with the Kobe and Shaq episodes? I don’t understand what’s happening. 5 stars for the Beatles season. -2 for it disappearing. +1 for kinda bringing it back. -1 for not really bringing it back This is tiring.
  • CoggieTM
    Why?
What happened to Paul and John? Why was it deleted?

    Loved season one....
    That then disappeared!

    Kobe - Shaq 095
The Kobe - Shaq series is sort of like a 5th grade book report written primarily from Wikipedia. Sounds like someone who has never watched basketball and had to produce the pod in 10 days. Should sell it to Calm for sleep.

BRING BACK THE REAL SEASON ONE
Title says it all. Some of us never had the chance to hear Lennon/McCartney, and it is super frustrating to see y’all remove it and claim Kobe/Shaq is Season 1. Do your fans right and bring it back.
