anonymousmedstudentMS2 Kate KimKate Kim, MS2 at RWJMS, gave such an insightful talk about her experience with health policy and how it intertwines with her clinical practice. Loved listening! She sounded so mature, eloquent, and down to earth :)

nontradmomMade studying with a baby possible! This podcast was my sanity studying for boards just after having my son. I had push my exams to during my rotations and had an hour commute. Listening to the questions reviews made active learning possible during my drives.

ls3076Good but poor audio qualityLove the app but the host needs to either speak further away from the microphone or have the audio edited. There is a lot of vibration (mostly just when host speaks) and itās honesty very distracting.

lizzzyb āThis podcast is high yieldSO HELPFUL! I do not believe I can say enough good things about this podcast. The opportunity to hear experts break down questions and help you to understand the objective is invalubale information, let alone for free like this podcast. From questions to keep you thinking when you cannot study, to tips on application, and interviews from the source creators to actually understand how it should be utilized this podcast has it all.

Madi65734How did i not know about this?I cant believe this is free. I always learn something from listening to episodes. And it seems like you guys really care about students and making their lives better. Thanks. Keep up the great work!

I. PotterMake the most of your timeITB is not only entertaining and informational, it has helped me to make far better use of my time, especially time that would be otherwise wasted. Iām currently a second year medical student. Last year, due to some exciting life changes, I was left with over an hour commute each day to class for 1 semester. Uneasy about the prospect of losing 3 hours of study time each day to driving, I looked to podcasts for ways I could mitigate the wasted time during the mornings and evenings I spent in my car. This is when I came across ITB, and when I started to listen, I was hooked! I proceeded to retroactively download all the ITB podcasts and caught up to the new episodes by the end of the semester. The podcast has given me a lot of tips for test-taking as well as a lot of information about various medically related topics outside of board examination. I truly believe it has helped me become a better test taker. 10/10 would recommend!

Gilligan13Beyond Helpful!Going to medical school comes with a lot of people telling you what resources to use. It seems like everyone has a different source that they use, or there is a large group of people that all use the same source. A lot of the time it is hard to absorb all of it and figure out what works for you. The advice in some of these podcasts help you do you! They provide advice on narrowing sources to what you need as an individual. Everyone needs to do that! I use sources many of my classmates do not use and I felt left out and maybe out of the loop, but it was working for me! So, I have narrowed it even more and have found my own way. Lastly, and most importantly, the podcast where they break down questions is incredibly helpful. Our school writes tests that have board-style questions. Even if you knew every detail, that doesnāt mean that the question is understood in a way to correctly answer it. Their podcasts walk you through how to break the questions down and pick out the information needed to answer the question. Just hearing their question break downs in their podcasts led me to buy their audio question bank for the commute to school. Their podcasts are worth it, if you have time in your busy medical school schedule!

OHMedStudentAwesome new way to do questions on the goI'm a big advocate of doing as many questions as possible to master the wealth of material covered in medical school. Inside the Boards is a great way to get some extra questions in when I'm driving to and from rotations. It's high yield, and makes me feel like the drive to all the different clinical sites is no longer a waste of precious study time!

wedswhoaAwesome Study ToolITB is an amazing reinforcement of other more āstandardā STEP studying tools. The hosts pleasantly guide you through the thought processes you need to employ to succeed on the exam. The random tips Iāve grabbed from the experts on the show is great too. And I love how they reinforce the importance of mental health; in the midst of so much anxiety around the test when I discuss it with my classmates, itās really nice to be exposed to people who donāt treat it like itās a behemoth. They are clearly very passionate and I really appreciate how such high quality content is provided for free. I recently purchased a premium qbank subscription and am super happy with it so far, it is more structured than the normal podcast and packs a ton of info efficiently into episodes I can listen and learn to on walks and errands. Thank yāall!

LivinthelifeonedgeEfficient and helpful podcastI love how they talk through their thought processes throughout the cases. Great tips. Thank you.

m314Knowledge Is PowerThanks for creating an enjoyable/useful resource of medical students. I believe that knowledge is a very powerful gift and this work will help many of us students take better care of our patients one day!

rachelhyeunaudio QbankI listened to the podcast episodes where the docs talked through a few questions in detail, reasoning for the differential as they read each sentence in the Q stem and then talked through the answer choices. So I got the audio Q-bank thinking it would be like that and while it is not completely, for each question, the speaker explains the reasoning for the answer which I find helpful. I have only listened to the Peds and FM episodes. Peds was nice because the speakers and real people and I like it when the speaker reads slower and pauses before saying the answer choice. The FM set sounds like it was recorded using an automated robot - I understood what they were saying but the intonation was distracting. Overall, I have appreciated an audio Qbank like this to supplement my learning while I am commuting.

JeffrobeachMy drive time is now study timeI'm currently a second year medical student and I wished that I had found this last year. I thankfully stay average or above in classes, but after listening to this podcast my stress on exams has gone down and my productivity has gone up. The study tools and mindsets that are mentioned have been wonderful and have helped me to focus on the questions. Thank goodness for this podcast, my 30-40 minute drive time is now time that I can learn how to think and learn some pretty important topics for when dedicated study time hits!

lividslothHigh Yield!!ITB does an excellent job melding basic science, clinical science, and exam strategy into high yield episodes. Allowing it to be free makes it even better. Thank you!

OsteoMikeGreat ResourceThank you for making the InsideTheBoards podcast and audio qbank. I used both while studying for the USMLE Step 1 and COMLEX Level 1. I can remember seeing specific "must know" topics on my exams that you discussed during either the podcast or audio qbank and it certainly helped me. I will continue to use both products for 3rd year as I prepare for Step/Level 2. USMLE Step 1: 253 COMLEX Level 1: 714

Future DOcGreat podcast, helped me get the score I neededJust got step 1 back and got a 249. I Felt like I had to eat, drink, sleep, and breathe usmle but ITB was a big factor that allowed me to do that on my hour round trip to and from school everyday. It helped me stay focused on material when I otherwise couldnāt. The audio qbank was a great investment and helped introduce connections I hadnāt realized before. Thanks Patrick.

Jimmy McCluskeyLearning on the goITB is a relaxed way to learn content on the go that complements your studies!

Bea TenorioPreferred to GoljianAlthough I know lots of people who rave about Goljian, I just think Goljian has too long of an audio and I can't pay attention to them unless I'm doing nothing (which at that point I'm better off reviewing First Aid). Where Goljian has admittedly important information to dispense, ITB managed to find a way to give good study material in small time pieces that are easy to follow along as you're driving, doing chores, etc. Not meant to be as your only source, but really is a great study tool as you're running errands.

Zac O.USMLE/COMLEX test taking strategies you wonāt hear in med schoolThe ITB podcasts are both phenomenal. They are perfect to listen to on the go/while driving. I have been interweaving USMLE style questions throughout M1 courses and didnāt really have a systematic way to approach/answer questions. Since listening to the ITB podcast and implementing some of the strategies they talk about, I have been getting more questions correct on average and feel more comfortable and confident answering questions. Additionally, the sample questions and answer explanations they go through are amazing. It seems like every question block I do there is 1-2 questions I get correct because of information/fast facts I remembered from various ITB episodes. Highly recommend to any medical student and will definitely be purchasing the audio q-bank for my step 1 prep!

JennGizaAn amazing resourceI wish I used this sooner because the struggle is real. To say the least, this podccast really helped me identify my problems with test taking that I wasn't even aware that I had, and ways to overcome those problems. I can't even emphasize the difference between my grades ending first year and beginning second year were after applying what I learned from listening to this, and I can only think to myself "what if I had only learned this sooner?" For boards studying and school they always give us more "resources" that are really just more things to read and learn. I think we should be given more resources like this that help us learn how to think in such a clever way, and how to really pick out details that are important. This is exactly what every medical student needs before going into the boards. I also think it's important to note that we are always staring at something: a book, a computer, a diagram. It's refreshing to stop looking at something and just to listen.

Tap what?Thank you!Such a good podcast, really grateful for this program as I go through med school and try to keep what Iām learning as board relevant as possible.

ElDoc!Amazeful insight! Its amazing the amount of free information this podcast provides. It definitely targets and helps with ease the typical struggling, USMLE preparing medical student. Amazeful insight. I listen to you guys on my way to work, while walking my dog, at times while shopping or eating lunch (right before heading to the library to study)š . I will be purchasing the audio qbank. I have found the sample questions useful. Thank you, and keep at it. šš¼

(Almost)DocMomBest Med School Resource! As a wife, mom, and medical student, Iām always looking for a way to maximize my time and be more efficient with my studying (letās face it, Iāll never be able to study as much as my classmates), so finding this podcast and purchasing the audio qbank has been so helpful for me! I can listening while commuting, cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, running, at the gym, all these things I can accomplish while still studying! I really enjoy it too so it doesnāt seem like work :) Canāt say how valuable this has been for me, definitely check it out!

O. ManayanGreat for turning idle time into not-so-idle timeNothing but great things to say about this podcast. Patrick and Stewart are great hosts, and the doctors they feature on their show are all so insightful about the content they cover, as well as about test-taking strategies. Since Iāve started listening to the podcast, my times on question blocks have gotten significantly shorter (I used to really struggle finishing all 40 within an hour). Thanks so much for an awesome show!
-
DocleibMedical StudentI was so happy to find this resource during my dedicated study period for my first board exam! It made car rides and down time in between meetings so much easier with out having to lug around my backpack. It really helps you develop your question strategy and help you prepare for those 3rd year pimp sessions with them reading the question to you.

Bosque444444Great Podcast - Especially for First and Second Year Med StudentsThis in an incredible podcast. As a current MS2, my stress levels for STEP1 are constantly very high. During down time while walking the dog, driving, etc, I feel like I am losing valuable study time. This podcast has seamlessly filled that gap and made those times very productive for me and also less stressful. This is a great way to learn high yield facts that every Med student should try!

KarmaLee1235678975445775467Thank you!I find this podcast extremely useful for reviewing information, especially while driving to visit my fiancƩ and my family out of town or even while walking to class. Honestly, I've gotten a few questions right on each organ module "NBME exam" specifically because of things I've heard on this podcast. Thank you to all the doctors, residents, and fellow medical students who have contributed!

ItaweldBoosting my Performance!I'm a second year medical student and started using ITB about two months ago. I have a lot of driving to do plus my workouts and cleaning the house - I used to feel guilty during long workouts and frustrated when I have to drive but now I know I can use that time to go through some USMLE type questions. It helps me review some of the most high yield topics and I constantly finding myself using this knowledge in class and on practice questions. Also the strategy of going through a question is what is really boosting my performance. Highly recommended podcast that I've been sharing with everyone in my class.
-
mfischer336Audio Q and Step 1 ResourcesI started listening to the podcast as a way to learn about medicine in another format other than lectures. The audio questions are perfect to test yourself. And if you get the question wrong, no big deal! Patrick and the guest will walk through what the question was really wanting and how to read between the lines. They also will provide little hints on how to remember things. One of the best things I've loved about the podcast is Patrick inviting different platform developers on. There is so many different platforms to help with step 1 boards and beyond! Getting to hear about how the platform was developed and the goals of it first hand from the founders really helped me choose which one was right to supplement my step 1 studies.

StephanieB-NDWonderful Med-Ed podcast!!I discovered ITB back in the fall (Sorry it took me so long to write a review)! Patrick, Elizabeth and Stewart are all wonderful and present the high yield information/clinical pearls in a way that is memorable and fun. I love the conversations with all the other test prep aficianados and clinicians and have recently been loving the Step 1 prep with the Study Smarter Series. Definitely one to add to your list of subscribes!!

JamieFitchTrain the brain the right wayI know so many smart people that struggle with tests. They think they're doomed, but there's a RIGHT way to approach questions to make yourself efficient and effective. This podcast bridges the knowledge you know with the necessary skills to execute and achieve come test day. I can't recommend it enough! I especially love the episodes with OnlineMedEd's Dr Williams. He's insightful AND hilarious. Refreshing. Thanks!

Anna AskariA must hear for everyone in med school! This was such an interesting and useful podcast that I wish I had as an M1 (currently an M4). It was validating, honest, and helpful. Totally worth your time!

aalston16Great for med students with commutes! As a rising 2nd year student I've enjoyed listening to this podcast and learning how to take apart board style questions while I'm on the go. I would highly recommend this to other students on the horizon of taking Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1!

-
AnyiGorisAwesome. Made to help you with test taking skills.Short and straight to the point. It honestly shows you how to think like the test writer. What I like the most is that they explain why the other answers are incorrect and how the same answer can be changed onto another question.
-
Voss32Sooo moneyITB podcast is the perfect adjunct to normal UFAPS during intensive study time. I put it on a speaker and listen while in the shower. Awesome podcast!
-
roddengrAbsolutely worth your timeThis podcast really does everything that it sets out to do! I'd only request that they use some higher level questions for analysis. Most of the osmosis questions seem to be softballs.

Vikmed90My Favorite Podcast!!!!First off I would like to thank you, Dr. Beeman, for creating this podcast to help us medical students out. I've listened to this podcast EVERYDAY for the past few weeks now and I love it. Everything about the podcast and the way it's organized has definitely made me feel more relaxed about starting medical school! I would like to suggest two things: (A) If you could please speak up because a lot of times you sound so distant and I have to turn my volume all the way up, and when it's your guest's turn to speak, I blow my ear drum out! Thank you!! (B) I would LOVE for you to interview Dr. Zubin Damania, also known as ZdoggMD, from the podcast Incident Report! I listen to his podcast a lot as well. I feel that you two would make a great team on an episode, since you both are extremely intelligent!! Thank you and keep up the excellent work!!
