    Great Voice Acting
All the voice actors were superb. Great story and kept me guessing until the end. The only complaint I have is how heavy handed the handling of the same sex relationship was. I get wanting to preach tolerance, but it wasn’t realistic of the time period and it was distracting with how many times “everyone deserves love” was brought up. After it was mentioned for the 100th time, it started to detract from the story because their romance no longer felt organic and like it was placed there to tick a box. Other than that, this was a very entertaining podcast.

    Meh 🫤
While it’s campy tone is sometimes fun, it reads lame at other times. I get that this is intentioned to be over-the-top however, the story is beyond ridic. Lavar Burton however, is fantastic.

    Good to pass the time
Never listened to one of these before willingly but decided to give it a go while going to visit my long distance boyfriend. Passes the time but soemtimes ran a bit slow and ending was kinda like 😐. Rupaul added a pretty funny tone to it though and Kristen bell was the perfect voice slay gossip girl

Unrealistic, Overacted, Anachronistic, and Just Bad
Modern speech, sentiments, and political beliefs rolled into poorly contextualized 1950’s setting. Other than Kristen Bell and Rue Paul, the acting was just terrible and the strory was so disappointing. Skip this and go watch Clue or the new Bodies, Bodies, Bodies.

    Terrible acting
I couldn’t make it past the first episode. And the racism was unnecessary.

    Excellent!
Oh this was so much fun! It would be amazing if you could do another series… pretty please?!

    Good for kids, until...
(Spoiler alert) Great if somewhat cheesy old school murder mystery. So my kids are super into murder mysteries and can handle adult themes (they loved Knives Out) so I thought this would be a great one for some long car rides we had. And it was solidly PG until about six episodes in when completely out of the blue a bdsm storyline emerges! I had to laugh to myself from the front seat as they sat silent through it. Still recommend it, just be prepared!

    Disappointing
The voice acting and production is amazing but the writing and story and ending is just bad

    Star Talent - Star Podcast
With such a great compilation of talent, how can you go wrong?!? I was laughing out loud by myself at the comedic slant (butler who appears from nowhere, the actor, ect) Then there’s the plot - I was glued. The surround sound was so clear, it had me jumping around like a nut. LOL. Thank you for a super well written, well acted podcast that was not about the apocalypse during a pandemic. I needed the relief. Thank you!

    Loved its KITCHY DRAMA !
I don’t know how I missed this when it came out. The Voice Actors are HUGE STARS ! It was such a kookie cast and crazier story. NO SPOILERS HERE but it kept me guessing until the end. It was NOT who I thought it would be! I want MORE! I wish there were more podcasts like this one !

    Kept me guessing
In all of my guessing I totally got it wrong! Great job! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Can’t be bothered to finish this story.
**spoiler alert** I got through 6 episodes of people complaining about being hungry and out-of-time-period phrases(I’m looking at you, “hot mess.”) just to have the fortune-teller return to be murdered in front of the entire cast of lame characters. I don’t even care about the ending.

    Reminds me of..
This reminds me so much of the movie ‘Clue’. Anyone agree?

    Campy fun
Really enjoyed listening to this wild, old school murder mystery!

Returned to this two years later
I had such a great adventure listening to this series when it first came out and was yearning for another series to stir my imagination with such a talented cast!! Sadly nothing could rival this. So I listened all over again and fell in love again. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻please bring another season!

Listen to 3 of 10 and you’re good
I listened to the first 2.5 episodes and it was too cheesy and not interesting enough to continue. Character development was drawn out and too campy but not enough to be funny. I ended up listening to the final episode a few days later ... would recommend doing that just for the bizarre twist, so odd that it was comical

    Loved it!
Listened to the whole series twice - really well done. Wickedly funny and smart. And a good mystery, to boot! Two thumbs (and five stars) up!
  • Antonius404
    Good talent put to waste
I loathe to give podcasts negative reviews, but I keep seeing this as a “top” podcast despite being terribly written and grossly overacted. The twists are bad, the characters are bad. Give this a pass and go watch Clue (1985).

    Love it!
Great audio drama that really brings the story to life!

    Child-like writing
Couldn’t get through the first episode. They were all partying, eating, and drinking. They attended parties together for years. Then someone gets capped and all the sudden everyone is calling each other racist names. Sounds like a woke writer imprinting his/her/xe’s interpretation of of the past.
  • ladydragon2007
    so much fun!
Wow! I really enjoyed this. The old time feel mixed with modern influences, the mystery, the characters, the comedy. I enjoyed this very much:)

If you can make it through the awful ads
Do yourself a favor and skip through the ads. They were loud and irritating. I have no problem with ads in general but these were worse than fingernails on a chalk board. THE SHOW IS FANTASTIC!!! Great characters and the actors are superb!!
  • dea.ces
    Great show
This show is so great, I just listened to it a second time! Put it in your ears! Unfortunately there was a super frustrating audio issue with the very last episode (sound cuts out for a second every 30 seconds) and I really hope they can fix the glitch

Best dinner party I got to listen to!
So, so good! Enjoyed it all. Love the theatrics!
  • Megawinters
Took a while, but turned out pretty good
At the first few episodes, it felt like it dragged. Or maybe it was because Olivia whined about everything. Everything. And at times contradicted herself, “I hate these people, they’re bullies” only then to ‘question’ suspects and bullied them. By the end, the characters became more likable, except for Rodger (screw you Rodger) and the story turned out pretty good.

No comedy, not much mystery, no relation to reality, no humanity
Boring, ridiculous, not at all funny

    Loved this!
It was through and through a play in my mind. I could see the characters, it was all painted so excellently!

i can not explain how much i adored amir & rupert’s story. this podcast was funny, thrilling, adventures, & of course—romantic. i highly suggest this wonderful piece of art. and i am happy that people of all ages can listen in & especially for the children & young people who listen to children-revolved story with lgbtq+ main characters in it.

    Get A Clue
It’s nothing more than a podcast drama of board game Clue. Pretty unremarkable

    The black girl
I like the black girl she really makes it hard to identify her nationality

    Perfect for a rainy night.
My only regret is not having both headphones functioning to hear the knock-your-socks-off cast, the beautiful music and the small sound effects that send you into the story. I stumbled upon this podcast this morning and gave it a shot. A few hours later and I have sadly finished it but am also satisfied. I love the classic murder mystery and pride myself on identifying the killer early on. I actually felt my jaw drop when they were revealed and their motive. Normally the period setting is solely aesthetic but the small references to the time kept it realistic. Sadly I can’t gush about too much because of the mystery would be ruined but I swear, as a picky podcaster, it’s defiantly good for a cold night.

    Loooved!!
I am a big fan of a classic who-done-it and this podcast hit all the marks! It was a nice break from the darker podcasts I typically go for. Give it a try, it’s so much fun!!

    I loved it!
I absolutely loved this podcast! I could not stop listening, especially while I was in art class or painting! Please make something else like this one!

Got me when you got political as always. My family escaped communist Cuba. Screw commies.

    Had higher expectations
I was so excited to find this podcast, but it didn’t deliver as I thought it would. Reminded me of Clue and 8 Women, but a less thought out plot line and “twist”. The twist wasn’t even that exciting and I suspected the killer from the beginning, which is always a disappointment when you realize you were right all along.

    Painful
I see what they are trying to do with the attempt at historical murder camp, and I would be down for that, but DM misses the mark in writing and execution. The sound tricks are tacky and seem amateur. I actually cringe when listening... I mean seriously ... I don’t understand how someone thought this was in good enough shape to release. It would need so much work to be worthy of the stars who lended their talents to it.
  • MartineSesma
    Quirky and unpredictable!
I loved it!! Where is season two!?

    ❤️ Levar Burton as Narrator
That was an exciting surprise! PS much love to either the writers or his PR (or both, maybe himself for sticking to his brand?) for not having him swear or be crass despite some of the word choice in the show. It saves the image for those of us who grew up having Burton guide us through Reading Rainbow and Star Trek. Story was fun - got a little arguable for a bit in the middle, but overall was funky and hit The Royal Tennenbaums level in awkwardness. Loved the multi-cultural cast. Pretty good win for me.
  • qoeuvyenrj146
    Good start, bad ending
If you want a murder mystery that forgets that it is a murder mystery after episode 6 this is the one for you! Poor motives and several tangents that have nothing to do with the murders made this one I regretted listening to.
