humanflesh-amunchmunchmunchSeason 2 Recap SongThe season 2 recap song is one of the best parts.

Harrison GivenToo boring to make it through season 1The acting wasn’t too bad but the writing was atrocious. No one in this anthology seems to act like normal human beings aside from the two people performing the study. The sound effects are often really badly done foley — a syringe drawing blood should not sound like someone slurping on an empty McDonald’s soda, for example. Sometimes they’re okay, but not enough to feel immersive. But while plenty of disturbing violence is thrown about, nothing scary really happens, and there is very little atmosphere developed. Pass.

strattagemFun and sickening!I have listened to this many times over while i create my art stuff. The sfx and voices allow me to create while being stimulated only through my ear holes. Very rich in imagination. I haven’t purchased any socks or ad stuff, because I am poor! but their ads are hilarious.

Stave???????Fun surprisesThis podcast is great but I was surprised that there have been parts that really make me smile. An episode with Jim and Pam and Toby! Another episode that is talking about My Favorite Murder podcast. I love these little nods.

bettie415Just starting out...The acting is very over the top in the few episodes I’ve listened to so far, but the stories are entertaining and really keep your attention. Lee Pace is FANTASTIC as the narrator and I’m a huge fan of Denis O’Hare, they’re both perfect. The musical bit in the second episode and the douchey guys chatting at the end are terrible, I’m hoping there is less of both going forward.

littlesmokie77AmazingLove the story.

CyanalkalGood horror if you’re good with audible goreHad an incredibly strong start and running through the 1st season, with both excellent individual episodes and overarching meta plot that tied together excellently in the season finale. Great sense of tension and dramatic execution. 2nd season was similarly well crafted, but by the 3rd and final season, the overarching story fell a bit apart. The ending seemed like a rushed culmination of events that left some critical aspects to the season’s more seemingly supernatural events entirely ignored. Especially considering how previous seasons (and the final season, to an extent) were rather pointed on contextualizing the not-supernatural (albeit potentially convoluted and terrible) aspects of events. TLDR; excellent first two seasons, but unsatisfactory concluding season.

ebrettrager89Completely ImmersedThis is one of the BEST podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Seasons 1 & 2 were so outstanding with the heavy plot of the two companies. I will say season 3 threw me a little bit with how it started but eventually we got back to the cliffhanger ending of season two and WOW what an epic finale. I canMt wait for season 4 and I hope we continue with the plit of this set if characters. What happened ti the narrator from season 1 & 2? My favorite voice actor EVER!
-
futchramblerSeason 1 is greatAfter that the quality of the writing goes downhill significantly... The first season has a compelling storyline and believable dialogue. After the first season it seems like they were just producing whatever creepy pasta they could rip off and add gimicky sound effects to. What a letdown.

arisanthonyWelp....Welp.... just shot through Darkest Night podcast. There are some good stories for sure. But they’re hit or miss, with the stories getting more and more gore heavy as it goes. It’s an anthology horror series with an overarching plot that ties all the stories together. (Minor Spoiler Alert) Basically you’ve got two people working for an evil corporation where they can look at the last moments of someone’s life by taking the eyes out of the corpses. The deaths make the horror stories, and the major plot is based around them finding out their company is evil, corporate espionage, and eventually getting the government involved.... because murders, obviously. It’s got some great voice actors, but for whatever reason all of them are doing it way too campily. The first season gave intrigue and connected the dots fairly well. I feel the second season furthered this track decently enough to keep me interested. The third season, however, was a straight descent into narcotic madness with a sloppy tie up and a ludicrous, nonsensical ending to the full story. God, it was disappointing! Lol Anywho, decent premise with some decent to downright fantastic stories peppered throughout. I really wish the execution of the major story was handled better. I’m not saying don’t check it out, it’s an easy binge, but be mindful that you won’t get full satisfaction. At least I didn’t. Dennis O’Hare’s voice acting was obviously the highlight and draw for me.
-
AppleofDiscordLive for the castingI really like this plot device of being able to see peoples last moments alive. And I’m always up for giant scary corporation conspiracies. But what’s really selling me is the Lee Pace narration and the cameos from THE RuPaul. How you guys managed to swing that last one is beyond me.

Moxie-mandiBinge worthyI was looking for something similar to the no sleep podcast and stumbled upon this. It’s so good. Season 1 was awesome the other 2 were good, strange but good. Now off to find another show to listen to!
-
Jechtstar-23WeakSeason 1 was great but after that it quickly went downhill. There is a massive overuse of “bloody” sound effects that it makes the actual story uninteresting. My opinion is just listen to the first season and end it there.
-
MrKii09BalanceSeason 1 well written to the finale Season 2 seemed it was trying to hard
-
HamboteAmazing narrative & immersiveGreat job to all involved, this is immersive and keeps you wanting more! It’s hard to come by such a lively podcast that bothers with sound effects & a varied cast! Awesome job!

Castillo.AnthonyKSad.Season 1 was great, and had a lot of potential going forward. Lee Pace is the bomb, and the story is pretty solid. The podcast sadly suffers a classic case of “Should have ended there”. Come season 2, the overarching plot devolved SO rapidly I’m surprised I made it to the end. Which, by the way, had to be the weakest cliffhanger ending I’ve ever suffered. The whole episode was weak. I really want to give season 3 a shot, but the only reason is that I’ve already heard the first episode and Keith David is also the bomb. Aside from that, there’s no doubt in my mind that season 3 will be just as pathetic as season 2. LISTEN TO SEASON 1!!! After it’s over, don’t waste your time with the rest.
-
PandaVoltaPro tip: Stop listening after season 2What happened?? Season 1 = 5 stars. Season 2 = 4 stars. Season 3 = 1.5 stars. I love horror podcasts, but season 3 is the dumbest thing I’ve tried to listen to in a long time. Lazy writing, overacting and serious overuse of wet slurpy sound effects/screaming (attempting cheap scares I guess?). Pretty much unlistenable. I do recommend season 1-2 if you enjoy horror. Just skip past the frat boy intros.
-
WyattMazetisWeird but addictingLike any anthology series, some episodes are better than others. However, the first 2 season completely captivated me. Season 3 did begin to lose me. The stories were good, however the overall story line wasn’t nearly as engaging. It’s tough to strike gold 3 times in a row. If you enjoy podcasts with a narrative structure, as well as horror, I think you will thoroughly enjoy this.

LorraineECI’m so sad this is over. Loved itI binged this in about 3 days and cried when it was over. I need more!
-
Skilla3Good listenI love storytelling podcast and this one is a favorite ! This is my third time going through the episodes so I figure a review is needed ! MakavreNo harmony between narration and surrounding soundsHonestly, I love everything horror. When I read the description of this podcast I was excited, I love the listening experience of everything surrounding you, so I played one of the recently released episodes. Started good but by the end of the episode, I had to be playing with the volume key on my phone. The screams and just wayyyy too loud and it hurt my ears because unfortunately, AirPods are too good at their job. When the narrator came back to speak, I had to put the volume up to understand what he was saying. It was constantly up and down up and down and up to now I didn’t know how annoying that was. I want to be able to put my phone away and enjoy the story without having to play DJ. I read some reviews and now I’ll try the first season (seems to be great).

😍😍❤️😍😘❤️😘😍😘Going down hill for meSeason 1 was really good and season 2 after that one about the pig you really started losing me.. Slightly uncomfortable listening to some of these. Shoulda stopped listening after season 1
-
Kate__Is__GreatAbsolutely stunningThe sound quality and voice actors are amazing, it felt like I was there listening to the whole story. I need a season 4!!
-
HoneybeedoeshairNew season?!I’m addicted!!!! It’s been forever though! :-( when’d the new season coming?! I hope there’s like 20+ episodes! Lol

aeiou77777Too gory for meI loved the first season tho!
-
danyellshanteVarious scare tacticsTo find a good horror podcast that is actually scary, engaging, with great stories is harder to find then expected. I enjoy everything about this podcast; my only critique would be to have stories that have more then just gore & violence. I love it sometimes but I dnt wanna hear it from every story, every time. Create different scare tactics. Other then that it’s a great podcast I recommend to friends.
-
MerrariStill better than 99%It’s been over a year since the last episode and I admit this podcast remains what I had been painfully searching for when I came across it its first year and what I’ve been bummed to admit haven’t found since. Thanks, Darkest Night; you were sufficiently creepy when my spirit needed you most (¡OCTOBER!). Die well.
-
Jack OwlEyesI’m confusedI like this podcast the first season felt genuinely scary to me and then the 2nd 3rd season to me were just filled with plot. There were scary ones (happy hallow) there but I really focused on the plot during these 2 seasons I still enjoyed it

xDearDahliaxSierra BlancaFirst episode I checked out and I can’t with the pronunciations. 🤦🏽♀️

Boomer319Pretty good for a horror podcast.I highly recommend this podcast to anyone who enjoys horror. The show is graphic and describes a lot of gore. Fair waring. It has an interesting storyline. First season was amazing for what it was. Some say it is formulaic, but I didn't connect all the dots so I'd say it keeps your interest. Season 2 was solid. Not as strong as the first, but decent. 3rd sesaon was really silly. A lot of the episodes had too much gore and screaming, which did keep me awake at work to its credit. It created more loop holes in the plot and some of the deaths were so lame that it took me out of the story. I can't wait for season 4! I do hope it is a redemption for season 3. It's good! Give it a listen.
-
Brianne GanaeStunningly CaptivatingAnother podcast i HIGHLY recommend. Very gory. But extremely great stories that all connect. It’s the kind of Movie podCast that’ll have you saying “NO WAY?!” Or when you connect the dots really getting amped and more obsessed with the story itself. Also can’t help but love one of my all time favorite American horror story actors (Denis O’Hare) in season 1. This podcast is not for the faint of heart, or stomach in some cases. Still, it’s captivating and bingeable, like Netflix. But instead, podcast. Podcast n chill anyone?
-
Mr. FiebigLove it!Exciting and addictive.
-
moppet_miMehIt’s as if the creators wanted to out do each other, weekly, based on the rapid increase of described gore and violence. It’s gratuitous and off-putting in an annoying way (rather than shocking). Why would I want to envision such things? It’s not what makes good horror or ghost stories, just shock for shock-value (but again, in an annoying way rather than interesting). Part of the draw was Lee Pace’s narration, but even that seems randomly thrown in, here and there. Ultimately, I lost interest before reaching the end of Season 1...maybe 6 or 7 episodes in? Simply couldn’t hold my attention - I even forgot about it within two days, and almost resubscribed until the reviews jogged my memory.
-
Gylrid RavenwoodUnsettlingRelies too much on gore & shock value. If they would rely on the unsettling environment & less on “how violent can we make this”, then maybe they could create a decent podcast.
-
RomprStomperStory is solidIntro song in 2nd season is god awful though.
-
OgorirStop after season 2First two seasons were great, third season is a big disappointment. Mediocre monster if the week generic horror crap. There used to be way more sci-fi thriller undercurrent under the saw-esque torture porn. Third season is just killing people as violently and brutally as possible. Lame.
-
Kai-leiLove love loveLoved this story! Totally binged this entire series.
-
96WhalersBland and gory with wildly fluctuating audio qualityDon’t let the first episode fool you, the story makes no sense and goes nowhere, the individual episodes rely on gratuitous and unexplained violence for scare tactics and the audio editing and voice acting range from passable to unlistenable. Get ready for mumbling and stiff dialogue followed up suddenly by disproportionately loud sound effects of people being tortured and murdered! Lee Pace why are you part of this project?? Do yourself an enormous favor and go listen to the Magnus Archives, the best horror podcast out there, or even the No Sleep Podcast, which does produce some banger stories in between the ponderous and gratuitously disgusting and offensive ones.
-
abedwellFrat Boy Intros Detract from QualityI'd normally rate this a 4.5, but the frat boy idiots that do the laughing 'drunken bro' was annoying to say the least. It hugely detracted from the quality of the show. These worthless intros should be cut from the podcast to make it a more quality, enjoyable podcast.
-
Raptor_Ninja777Love it 100%This podcast is so amazing and addicting. I wish there was more than 2 seasons. I’ve already listened to the stories 3 times now and I still can’t get enough.
-
Chanmannius22Disturbingly addictiveI’m about half way into season 2 and I am disturbingly addicted to this podcast. I’m even a fan of how you set-up your advertisement spots. You manage to make the ads entertaining enough so I don’t skip through them lol. I have enjoyed how all of the stories are different, yet at the same time all part of one bigger connection. The violence towards children in a few episodes had me shaken up a bit as I’m a father, but I am glad you gentlemen are willing to create stories like this. When you feel that emotion while listening it reminds you what is important to you personally. Continue to be great boys, big 5 star rating from me so far.
-
rafflmaoAwesomeI’m 3/4 through the first season and my only complaint is that at the end of the story, the creator comes in with “thanks for listening...” and it completely ruins the flow of the episode. Its such an abrupt change of tone and background sounds that it destroys the mood that the episode established. My suggestion - put all that appreciations stuff at the beginning and when the tape recording ends, thats where the actual episode should end. With way these episodes play out, there should be no disruption of the mood that is so beautifully set by the story.

avchav1Love itLove this podcast! wish it would hurry and come back.
