It took well over a year to listen to all of omnibus, and I loved it. I was for sure several of the voice actors played multiple parts, but was amazing when I read up on the cast. It’s evidence that this was a well thought out production about a pivotal time in history. Thanks so much for all your hard work. Bravo!🥀

Having discovered this beautifully done series in Oct 2018, I have been slowly binge listening and have now started the last season. I’m already feeling sad about its impending end as it has been a great companion on my morning walks. I love the rich characters and the historical background. It gives us a glimpse into our grandparents’ lives ( ok, great-grandparents to some ) and thus a greater appreciation for them. There’s also something special about radio in that it envelops you without monopolizing you. Well done to everyone involved.

I will miss this series. I’m an American whose paternal grandfather served with the Canadian forces in England and my maternal grandfather served with the Americans in France. I was first touched more than 30 years ago by BBC tv’s “Testament of Youth” and “ To Serve Them All My Days.” This was equally enchanting, and heart-breaking. “War to end all wars,” they said....

I have loved every minute of this show and have not only learned a lot about life at home during WW1 but also become fond of its characters. It won’t be the same without the feisty Alice Macnade, the wonderful Marshall sisters, the entertaining Mrs Edkins and the down-to-earth Florae Wilson joining me whilst I relax with a nice cuppa. I hope the BBC will find another drama that is equally as lovely or better still allow us the occasional visit with our old friends.

I have been listening to this podcast since the beginning. I’m so sad that it will end soon. I really enjoyed the characters and learning more about how WWI affected every day people. I hope there is another long term historical drama coming to fill the void. Thanks to everyone involved.

I have learned so much and really connected to a time period I didn’t k ow very well. I now view Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day very differently with the perspective the show has given me. Well done Jess Dromgoole and crew!

I love this show

Overall I like it. Bit hard to keep up with who is who. Still, the concept behind the series and the acting is good.

Good radio drama. Often too many characters though. In response to the previous review, the radio show goes on hiatus about every two months. There isn't really a delay in uploading episodes, BBC radio is just not broadcasting new episodes at that time. The show returned on 4 April after hiatus.

I really enjoy this program from BBC4. Well scripted and very good actors. My major complaint is that the episodes are not published in a timely manner. We are in the middle of March 2016 and the latest episode is from the middle of February. Sometimes the posting are 4-6 weeks behind. I receive my podcasts from the Apple iTunes store. I can’t give the program a higher rating than 3 stars
